Facilitating a Research Placement

This workshop will provide an overview about the steps and processes associated with supervising a student to undertake research tasks on placement. Ideas about how a student might support program evaluation or other relevant research in your agency will be discussed. Ways to makes link between the social work process and research will be canvassed and participants will have an opportunity to discuss ideas for how students might participate in research in their own agency. There are many tasks that support research that students can undertake while on placement that do not require the completion of a whole project.
